Touch control is one of the real features on the Internet Tablets.

Somtimes I miss the big Newton tablet...

There seem to be a lack of a real Open Source Gesture text input apps and I guess we have to wait ...

Would it be possible to use the Gesture Touch contol for application launch ?

I've been waiting since 2001 for decent Linux-based HWR.

I think libstroke (http://www.etla.net/libstroke/) has gesture control. Maybe xscribble has as well, but development on both projects is scarse, to say the least. There was kgesture (based on libstroke), which could have worked nicely with penguinbait's port of KDE, but development on that one has halted completely, and it probably won't even run on KDE3.

The best implementation of gesture macros I've come across (other than the Newton's Dashboard app, that is) is PenOffice: You can define basically any glyph, stroke or scribble you like, once you've drawn a full circle around it, it becomes a macro. Neat...

At least the virtual keyboard understands some useful gestures, c.f. http://maemo.org/community/wiki/HowT...d6470417758386
