Hey ppl can u plz help me out on this. The issue is that i have compiled the kernel source code of the Nokia N810 using the scratchbox tool. This creates an kernel image of 1.7Mb after the compilation. Now when i try to flash this kernel image to my N810 using the flasher tool the device does'nt boot...

The steps i followed are as given in this link

http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...o_Kernel_Guide

There seems to be some problem in flashing only the kernel image..
Plz help me out on this.

regards,
Roshan

You aren't able to just flash a new kernel image?
Or you have flashed your image and now the device fails to boot?
Case 1:
- from your linux pc: type "flasher-3.0 -f -b -k zImage", connect your device to the usb cable, reboot your device.
- or in your device: "fiasco-flasher -f -k zImage", reboot your device
Case 2: get another kernel image, for example download the kernel deb from the repository and unpack it, or unpack the FIASCO firmware image, and then go to "Case 1"

EDIT: And please, stop cross posting and hijacking threads all over the place. One post is enough. Both of you, if both are different people and not just one person.

And you should be root or type "sudo flasher-3.0 -f -b -k zImage" from the terminal after you connect the N810 to the USB while the topmost button left of the display (under the camera eye) is held down during powering on.Once conncted to the PC you may release that button and start flashing.
