Currently OpenGL gives around 10fps and 200 ping with software rendering. The game rocks so I thought a bounty might help getting it to playable state. 50 euros to whomever can make it GLES friendly and around 20ish frames per second (the more the better)
Armagetron Advanced
http://sourceforge.net/projects/armagetronad

Some work on making it GLES-friendly is already done though with bit older version: https://code.launchpad.net/~aavoodoo

armagetronad on extras-devel. Might need some tuning, e.g. missing escape-key.

I had problems to get it compiled correctly on autobuilder. I suspected too old gcc, but now I think it was about too aggressive optimization. Now it is compiled with gcc-4.6 and "-O0"

W00000000000t!!! Please IM me your paypal (if it works for you, if not, bank account # or whatever will do)

ESC is useful for accessing ingame menu (and shift+esc instaquit), but one can define ingame menu key through system settings->misc->global key conf, so it's all good (console key can be tweaked there as well). Working on the perfect settings, sadly getting rather random fps ingame (spectating gives consistent 30-40fps, playing can crash that to 5-6fps, but sometimes keeps above 23 through all round... very erratic)

THANK YOU!

(btw, the bikes do not render, not a big deal as they always are in front of the wall that renders fine, but lunixbochs did this fix:
https://github.com/lunixbochs/glshim/issues/9
supposedly for the same though it seems to be not working)
