Yes thanks, its working fine!

I have done:

Updates
Diablo Turbo
community SSU
Telescope

And a few apps here and there, including Easy debian.

What do these that you suggested do:

5. install advanced system UI
6. install openntpd, openssh

Advanced systemui http://asui.garage.maemo.org/ is a replacement for the standard system menu accessed by pressing the power button. Gives more control and features.

openntpd - is a network time server/client which will keep the time correct on your N810.

openssh - lets you connect to an xterm from your PC (use putty on windows), and ssh to any unix boxes.

Glad you are enjoying it!

A thing of beauty - I still think the N810 is a much nicer nicer design than the n900. I do like the black one though. Almost tempted to buy one and flog my std one on ebay.

Does look good in black. Mine isn't the wimax edition, so it's not as pretty.

The wimax radio should only turn on when connected to a wimax AP or when scanning for wimax/wifi networks.

FYI, there seem to be more, for £45 this time.

I got one of these! £45 isn't too bad. Except, the listing was a little vague as to if this was a retail boxed, or used unit. It was NOT retail boxed, and "mint" was stretching things slightly (as they are clearly scratches on the faceplate..)

So, it's just the unit and the charger (which is annoying, so I had to get a 0.99p USB cable) but it is pretty cool to be back in Maemo land. I was an N800 owner, but the lack of keyboard made me lose interest - the Nokia screwed the platform, but hey - another story.

No I'm using mine for doing IM and a little mobile embedded development. Should be a fun ride :-) As soon as I get a USB cable, I'll do the mods that require one (TurboDiablo does, I assume, due to reflashing?) but the others will be in place ASAP.
