But you are absolutely right. To be honest I'm not surprised, just sad. I fear we probably have to accept all these thoughtlessness as the normal state. Just watch daily news on TV.
Forgot Amazon Fire Phone too!

Maybe it just does show that making a Web app/HTML5 only Smartphone OS is not a particularly good idea ? And its not even the first such failed attempt - there was already webOS.

IIRC also Tizen tried to be HTML5-only in the beginning but quite quickly backpedaled on that AFAIK.

Has anyone tried Firefox OS? I tried it on my Sony Z1c. It's not really surprising that they've not managed to gain traction. On my Sony, which is no slouch, it ran so badly that an Asha would be preferable.

Firefox OS has been discontinued as of today (for the smartphone form factor), so nuke that from the list.

By the way Sailfish OS runs really good on the Open C FFOS phone, contrary to the FFOS itself.

Have you forgot that Ari Jaaksi was also Jolla board member?

He left Jolla probably some time before he joined Mozilla in October 2015. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/10...joins_mozilla/

What is interesting in his LinkedIn profile is that you can find information about his previous involvement in Nokia, HP, Intel and current work in Mozilla, but not a word about the fact that he was a board member of Jolla. Well doesn't suprise me much, nothing to be really proud of when taking into account current Jolla reputation, especially after not delivering tablets.
