Opera 12 still "seg faults" when run from a terminal for me.
Although running from a terminal does appear to suppress the issue.

This whole thing doesn't make any sense (works when run from xterm but not from desktop?). I have never installed version 12 (happy with 11), but just for the fvck of it I will install it and see if I manage to find out what the problem is.

If I figure it out, I will report here.

Maybe it`s some built-in autoupdate check, introduced with v12 - Opera tries to connect/is connecting to server and seg faults (because maemo)?

Also opening via terminal opens Opera as it would when first opened after installation; not with your settings saved from what happened when I tried so maybe that's why it works via terminal...

Why? the settings are still at /home/user/.opera regardless of how you run it.

When you guys say opening via terminal you DON'T MEAN AS ROOT, or?
