Two things I've noticed: while the app supports landscape, the splash-screen is portrait only. Harmattan allows for both.
Somewhat more substantial: when searching for "tree " (with trailing space) it says "no results found". It does list "tree" as first alternative though. Searching for "tree." (with accidental trailing period) lists the same alternatives, but all with the trailing period - which in turn yields to the same "no results"...
Alas, trimming the search input would be welcome.

No, it can not be used offline. Though it has some history stored. I don't want to store too much history and get into trouble as already Merriam Webster is asking $100/month for 1000 requests per day for commercial use, dunno what will they do on using their db like that. So enjoy whatever it has got
