I think you must hold the fn-key (blue arrow).
After that I think you're getting in trouble with the new encryption method. Please read the 'Yappari'-thread or 'Whatsapp for N9'...

After having spent 2 days on making this port work on N900, registeration step is failing on (Windows XP ) desktop. The response to using any of these "jar" files is always same:

Jar files used:
whatsapp_n900.jar
whatsapp_n900_alpha.jar
whatsapp_n900_alpha2.jar

The command line I've used as follows:
Code:
java -jar whatsapp_n900_alpha.jar
And response on UI is "Uknown error!" in "red color". Perhaps that is what most of the entries point to in earlier posts?

The response is always similar:

Code:
reg/req/code/voice/start
reg/req/code/voice/fail-old-version
I have tried both SMS/VOICE methods, just to see difference in output. However, response is always the same:

Code:
reg/req/code/voice/start
reg/req/code/voice/fail-old-version
reg/req/code/voice/start
reg/req/code/voice/fail-old-version
reg/req/code/voice/start
reg/req/code/voice/fail-old-version
reg/req/code/sms/start
reg/req/code/sms/fail-old-version
reg/req/code/voice/start
reg/req/code/voice/fail-old-version
If anyone has any input, pls submit.

Please search for Yappari. I thought this doesn't work anymore...

As I read through the Yappari thread, developer claims the following, so i don't think i can use it unless I was successful in using this port:

Code:
Scorpius:
@sifo, are you a current user of the Java Whatsapp port? This release is only for people that have been using the Java port successfully.

This limitation should be obsolete by now - you should try it and I am pretty sure it's gonna work. I never used the Java port and Yappari is working for me. Also Yappari now supports registration without further ado through workarounds.

You r correct, I just went through a few pages and saw Scorpius has implemented SMS registeration. Thank u for pointing out. I have started looking at Yappari's requirements.

Can anybody confirm if this still works? I tried many times yesterday and all I get is "Unknown Error".
I even tried the Recover login option and it told me "Not registered.".

Maybe this version is now outdated?

Thanks

java whatsapp already outdated, whatsapp has been changing their login protocol to newer format and render all old 3rd party program useless.
