Hello Community,

I'm sure you already heard that Hildon Foundation is planning to move to new grounds by transitioning to a German "eingetragener Verein" (e.V.). (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=91155)

This has become a pressing issue with the resignation of Woody14619 (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=92438), since with him, we also lost some of our action-ability for different reasons.

Besides that, it is desired to have funds accessible where major costs for the maemo infra accrue, where the servers reside.
As current HiFo board and council member, I am offering my services as chairman and an office address for the new organization. Gido Griese is helping with the initial steps of founding.

Fortunately, there already is a second board-candidate: juiceme, currently member of the Maemo Community Council.
As the board for the e.V. is supposed to consist of 3 directors,
we need one more.

If you're a well-known contributor on maemo.org and are able to support the movement as a director or founder, please step up.

Restrictions apply, though. As a founder, you have to be EU citizen, as a director, you have to be EU resident.

Update: For now, the plan is to hold the kickoff meeting on Tuesday, march 04 11 in #maemo-meeting channel on freenode IRC.

Sad that Woody had to quit. I believe we had (and have) a good foundation.

Allthough I dont believe I can match up with the current members, I am able to fullfill the requirements for both director, and founder (Danish citizen).

So, allow me to be the first (unless someone writes faster than me ) to step up for this.

I believe many members do know me, but if needed I will write up an introduction.

I do hope that more will step up, so that we can move forward.

Thanks Niel for stepping in, important for us is to fill the roster with known people as we do not have the luxury or time to vet others properly. We need to fill the whole roster and am still missing out on some councilors, first they will be set in place by us but we will have proper elections shortly after the founding has settled.

(Hope that does not sound too wrong, we need 5 councilors and we are not sure yet if councilors may be directors at the same time -Juice and myself are currently councilors and that would require 4 more councilors worse case! I know other people stepped up before and we are still looking fwd to have you on board, no worries!)

For now we have 6 and a wildcard so we need another one who is preferably on one of the locations we are already at.

as Wildcard we have Dos1, he is in Poland but has no garage account so not much to tell about his karma for now. And another one whom I do not know but that would be Hamburg with Falk and Gido.
