Out of curiosity - who the hell is going to manufacture Neo900's hardware, as of now? Post #88 looks like "Project Leader" just managed to antagonize actual manufacturing party to the point of declaring to leave Neo900 project entirely:

Anything changed, regarding this, or Neo900 just hopes to get some other party responsible for hardware, at some point?

Now, from my POV, if GDC is definitely out, one would need to be completely crazy or totally uninformed to forward money to Neo900 UG. Sorry, but with most important "piece of puzzle" leaving (the party responsible for gta04 that Neo900 was meant to be based on, and the party that actually have means to manufacture it) and with a "Project Leader" that have long history of *always* being Last Man Standing in all his projects (sadly, not due to stamina, but antagonizing everyone else, one by one), chances of delivering are ~0%.

Of course, I also see that there is a group of people that want to donate money to Neo900 UG anyway. Of course it's their decision, and I respect that (somehow split between admiring trust in the ideal and facepalming at them being naive, but still respecting their right to do so). Personally, (again, if GDC isn't in) I'm switching my interest to Pyra (OpenPandora 2), as it seems to have responsible management and actual chances of delivering something, at the end. So, it's (probably) my last post in any Neo900-related thread (some will rejoice, I guess).

Cheers, and the last one - remember to switch the lights off!

I'd just try and add such a transfer request to the order, then hope for the best. There may still be some snags, but at least GDC would then not return CC payments by accident.

Being able to receive credit card payments tends to be difficult, and I would assume Neo900 UG doesn't have that capability, at least not now. Since refunded CC payments could therefore be messy to re-donate, especially from outside the EU, I think it's worth trying to avoid such detours.

Good
All things right in the world again..then..
I intend then not to wait for the cc donation to return only for you to end up receiving a (very) diminished donation/deposit.
You need the coin for work now.... I'm sure.
Also I do not believe you should receive less (now) than what you initially needed.
Legal red tape was not anyone's doing, it just exists.
No need for apologies either as far as I'm concerned...(Though it was kind of you guys )....challenges arise all the time.
That being said...this weekend I'm going to bank transfer another 100 euros.
In it I'll include a note with name, (maemo) username, address, email, phone
From the gdc donation form what would you like as clear identification that I (and other credit card donators for the 1st production runs) need to send you?
1- Order Code: ?
2- Order ID: ?
3- Passcode: ?
4- Invoice numbers: ?

Whatever specific info (personal address...etc) and gdc donation identification (that is of course legally fine to share with you in regards gdc) you need....give me details and consider it done.

(Figure I'd post this like this so that other cc donators have a clear idea too as to what you guys need)

You do have a point Estel but seriously, get back to your project and start working on it and give your backers some proof that it really is going somewhere. I'm not going to get either that case or the Neo900 but I support both in spirit. So please stop killing one of projects that keeps this community going.

I "noted" that I wanted the money transferred almost immediately after the public refund statement from gdc...but transferring cc donation was too tricky I guess...Mine was refunded (so it says in my order details)...as I'm sure all cc donations were...

Ah, that's a pity. But yes, I could imagine that GDC's contract(s) with credit card companies or bank(s) simply don't let him do this, or make it absurdly difficult (or both.)

Hell may actually be a rather good place for SMT work, with a nice constantly high ambient temperature :-)

Other than that, while it's an issue that eventually has to be resolved, it's not something I'd be overly worried about just yet. Even if GDC wouldn't want to be involved - and I see ruffled feathers but no burnt bridges there - or would be busy with some other project, I'm sure we could still obtain the names of the fabrication companies and contract them directly.

And even if that would not be possible, there are other manufacturers out there, some of which we already know from previous projects.

In this industry it's important to be flexible and over-reliance on having found the one "perfect" solution for every task or problem is what gets you killed.

So while I hope very much that GDC's experience, skills, and dedication will be available for manufacturing Neo900, we'd be a sorry bunch if we couldn't find an alternative if necessary. Finding a good contract manufacturer is not trivial - that's what some of the more spectacular manufacturing failures demonstrate - but it's doable.

Most likely Global Components, exactly like GTA04, OpenPandora and (in future) Pyra.

Just to make it clear: Golden Delicious Computers isn't a manufacturer with its own fab, or anything like that.
