Onlive can be ran from pretty much any internet enabled device you can think of, like Ipads, Iphones, or even PS3s. Now as we all know the N900 has the full qwerty keyboard which would be perfect for the PC games, and a desktop like internet browser, this device is almost perfect for Onlive.

So, do you think they will try at Maemo/Linux, and would you want this?

Next time, don't mention what Onlive is, we all know it already.

Heh, funny enough i still have no idea what it is because that was the most circumlocutious "description" i've ever read.

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?

Its software that lets you play computer games on demand.

I don't agree. It would be painful to play any kind of game with it without a gamepad. I'm having cramps in my hands after playing a simple NES game

But since it has a decent TV-Out and bluetooth support, N900 would be a nice client for OnLive.

It's VNC, optimized for games

I don't see that happening until we get clear 100mbps connections with consistent <10 ms latency.

Oh, I'm sorry I thought the title would have given it away
I'd expect people to do research on things that catch their interest, imho.

I think once usb host is workin' then a 3rd party gamepad will be made. Besides, how can you guys be against having games like Crysis running on your N900, or a whole load of games that developers wouldn't even think of touching? I for one would be up for this!

Well, it's not exactly VNC... Since its for games, its more like streaming video + some protocol for handling input. VNC is very slow even for desktop...

I thought the vnc analogy was more suitable, since the application has to dynamically render the display first before it's transcoded for transmission... than video streaming which starts off in a static compressed form

Yeah, I agree that even tightVNC is slow... and that's already using lossy jpg.
