Hi All,

A new version of the exercise rep counter is available in extras-testing now.

The app has been enhanced to allow
- Automatic and manual modes
- 2 step exercises
- A lead in time to perpare for each rep
- ESpeak integration so the app can make announcements between reps, at the start and at the end. You can also get it to call out the rep count.
I hope you find it useful. See the wiki page here for more info: https://garage.maemo.org/plugins/wik...id=1297&type=g

I'm going to look into accelerometer usage, but that will take me some time.

All feedback is appreciated.

Oh, if you like it please vote for it here: http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...sitrep/0.4-15/

Great initiative! Thanks!

This is excellent for stretching!
Yes it would indeed be nice with the accelerometer support! But hey, wizards and thoughts come when its time.

Would it be possible so that one could in these steps:

1: Count the reps/push-ups, with no timeout.
2: Countdown 60 sec rest.
3: Keep track over sets, so one can follow something like this on: hundredpushups ?

Thanks again for your work!

Hi,

Thanks for your interest and feedback.

I think this should be ok to do....you mean an automatic mode that just keeps going until you interrupt it?

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Have a 'rest' button that would interrupt the exercise routine for a minute?

Honestly, record keeping is in my mind, but a long way off...

Ok, I expressed myself really badly. Sorry about that. Note to self, wait at least till the morning to write stuff like that.

What I meant was, for example, a usage case:

I start the application and my predefined exercise, which keeps going until:
I do my 15 push ups and then I manually push a button.

Then two things happen:
A: It gives a +1 value to show how many sets I have made so far. It would be nice if it showed me that Ive made for example "1 of 4 sets".
B: starts a countdown timer that I have predefined before which gives me say 90secs of rest and then says "start"/signals me that the brake is over.
(Just a thought, when it signals Start! It would also be nice if it reminded me how many reps I should do as in blinking text "15 reps!" for a few seconds on screen)

I do my next set of push ups and push the button when im done and get my rest and then I repeat this two times more.
When im done with my sets, I get a done signal "4/4 Sets" a tone/happy "tadaa" from ESpeak

This would allow me to both preconfigure exercises as in:
A: number of reps per set(s?).
B: seconds of rest between (per set?)sets.
C: how many sets.
D: and then I could manually start the stretching exercise!

I dont know how all of this sound if its within the function of your nice application, just some thoughts.
Im not a developer so, forgive my ignorants if this is way more advanced than it sounds in my head.

Ok, I understand your requirement now. It's doable. I dunno when I'll get to doing it though ... but I'll give it a shot.

Hi.

I'm not using this app for pushups etc but as a round timer. Well I would if I could find spot to make the timer make noice when round ends and pause time starts.... Now it only gives notices when rounds start and when all final round ends.. Is it missing or have I missend something?
