"If you look at the next release of Maemo, it'll be fully compatible with MeeGo in terms of application development."

Will Moblin and Maemo as seperate entities go away to be replaced by MeeGoo? If so, how does that affect maemo.org?
according to announcment maemo.org will be replaced "merged" with meegoo

From Engadget live feed:

Nokia's not decided whether Maemo 6 will be Maemo 6, MeeGo, or something else. "We haven't decided on the branding."

i'd like to have one strong platform for mobile linux. so meego should be good news.

however, i'm afraid, this means:

1) nokia had again thrown out compatibility and continuity with previous linux devices

2) i hoped that maemo6 will be THE polished consumer product I was looking for. Unfortunately meego will again take time to merge maemo and moblin and prepare stable consumer product.
Even if the 1st device will be available this year, it will be temporary product with followup devices incampatible again (i'm sure).

...and just another think jumping to my mind - does this mean that Intel will support a platform that runs on ARM?!? Well how strange this might be for the Intel x86 community?

Sorry but MeeGo is just a stupid name, why not Maemo or Moblin?

Cheers
