Is the feature available?
That is, a computer voice will say who is calling you.
My N95 has it (no extra app needed for it).

No. Basically, none of the phone features you're used to from S60 phones are there. You have simple voice calls and text messages. That's it. Pretty much what the Nokia 1200 does for €25,-.

Don't think of it as a smartphone. Think of it as the mini version of a tablet that got basic telephony features because 3G data was already built in.

I really do hape the feature you're asking for will be added soon. I only got used to it with my current phone, but it really changed the way I handle phone calls.

Off-topic, but related to the reply above - Conversations for SMS is better than on S60, though?

Yes in my view it is. It places communications with a contact all in the same place so you can look through all your conversations with that contact. Not just text communications but also IM all together. Only problem is you can't seem to be able to send a blank text which was a bit of a problem when I was trying to set up my voicemail.

It was a cool feature, hope to see it on N900 soon via software update.

I pushed flite to extras-devel some time ago, so it should be reasonably straight-forward to implement once we know how to use/about the phone API.

espeak works pretty well on n900, I am sure you can easily wrap a caller in the phone api once the api is released.
