Sorry, say again?

The last patch for MyTube was a youtube-dl file.

I was just looking at that site I posted but I'm a little lost on what to do.

Are we suppose to compile the source ourselves?

tsoliman has an old tablet as well. I've been following him on his current build with the new SCUMM for us.

So yeah, it seems like he fixed the YouTube problem, I just don't know how to use it yet.

The youtube-dl file you downloaded is the script itself. Just place it wherever you want and point to it from mytube (give it execution permissions too). That's all.

The problem with most of the youtube-dl scripts out there is that they do a full download of the file before returning any data to mytube, essentially eliminating half the functionality of the play button. You also don't get x% completed. You get spinning bar until it's finished. The last *fully working" script for mytube was a youtube-dl-x that downloaded youtube files "in parts". What's really needed is for someone to compare the latest youtube-dl with the previous version, extract the difference, and merge that with the latest youtube-dl-x script to form Voltron...er...a new youtube-dl-x script that interfaces with youtube correctly while maintaining all the old functionality.

I heard back from the author on this.

Yes, it's a Maemo 4 specfic fix for MyTube but that's about all he had to say since I was posting off topic in one of his threads.

I'll give it a try much later tonight.

How do I get Voltron on my tablet?

That seems like it could come in handy.

So what's the correct command line to put into MyTube's preferences?

I have this:
/home/user/youtube-dl -o %d -- %s

It will create a folder, info and thumb file but no video download.
