My mums n900 has the same settings as mine. Won't connect to wifi. WIfi status icon flashes then dissapears & her phone keeps connection to 3g & if I disconnect it will reconnect.

My N900 works flawlessly with the same wifi settings & using mums sim also works flawlessly disconnecting from 3g & connecting to wifi

So what can I do to solve the problem. Mums n900 came with firmware 3.2010.02-08.203.1 then we upgraded it to nokia latest which is 20.2010.36-2.203.1.

My n900 first firmware was 2.2009.52-1 & the latest firmware is 20.2010.36-2. Are there any differences in the firmware that could be causing mums n900's wifi to fail or do you think the wifi module inside is faulty or has failed. We didn't try the wifi on the first firmware to find out whether it worked or not. We just did the latest update.

Hi. When connecting to the wireless network with my mums n900 it would flash the wifi status bar icon & then give up throwing up a "Network error". I already new that I had enable MAC address filtering on my router. This whole issue caused mums n900 not to connect. You would say well that's logical. Well yeah! but my n900 connects to my router even though it's mac address isn't in the MAC Address filtering list. Figure that out! lol Anyways if someone can explain that please do otherwise I'm off to enjoy some wifiying with my mums n900, buh bye. I hope this helps!
