Hi all
i got a few questions hope someone can help...
first of all, i downloaded the nit-droid installer and gave it a go
i have a 1GB card and i tried to use it, but the installer gets stuck at partitioning and bails out
i also tried the version that allegedly fixed the partitioning problem but still no go
After all this, i decided to screw android and tried to uninstall the nit-droid installer, and what do you know?? i cant...seems that there is no permission or that some process is still using it???
anyway, either anyone can help me with going through with the nit-droid installation, either help me uninstall the installer PLEASE!!!!

thanks in advance

PS: and yes, i searched and tried different approaches, but i didnt quite succeed...maybe if someone wrote all the code for xterm for me and my wonderful memory card...

I am not sure the installer can handle such a small card. Your best bet is to read the wiki about manually installing and manually partitioning the card.

you need a 2gig partition for market to work, so preferrably a 4gig card at least to leave some space after the android bit has been partitioned off.

yes your card is too small . minimum 2gb size and speed class 6 or 10 is best and do some research as some cards dont work well with nitroid. check the nitroid forum for info on cards ...

you should ask this in the nitdroid forum, there might even be announcement and what not about your problem already

tbh to all above 1gb card is fine have it running and apps working on 1gb card here and working fine. mine kept locking up on ext3 format but i ran this code as root in terminal and used nitdoid installer and works fine.

sfdisk -uM /dev/mmcblk1 << EOF
,100,C
,,L
,,
,,
EOF

after using the above code just type in nitdroid in the same terminal window and it should install fine just remeber to be root when doing this.

I ll state my complete problem:
4gb Transcend class 6 card i have.

1. Installed autoinstaller with extra-devel enabled...apt-get install nitdroid
installer.
2. Tried the autoinstaller, it bailed out at ext3.
2. Then, tried manually partitioning, partition done.
-- Ran the autoinstaller.
-- stuck at downloading nitdroid n900 flying.....
3. Uninstalled the installer using apt-get remove nitdroid-installer
4. Then, i read somewhere that the autoinstaller in extra-devel has some
problem, should be installed with extra-devel disabled.
5. Now when i try apt-get install nitdroid-installer with extra-devel disabled it
says:
/home/user # apt-get install nitdroid-installer
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package nitdroid-installer is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package nitdroid-installer has no installation candidate
/home/user #

how do i do it now??

pls help
ive posted it three four times in the sticky thread, but no response.
I dont want to create another thread coz i knw it costs.
so pls respond here.

thanks in advance
