Those who can't get it to work can maybe just use call-ui.css and call-history.css from F2thak's FDB Original variant?
Since all you want is a darker phone app I think F2thak has it covered in those two files...
Edit for those who don't know how to get them:
FDB Original variant:

The difference of the FDB Original and Phone UI MOD is only the color of the digit keys. I'll try reinstalling the FDB Original and watch the colors are fdb-original/meegotouch/images/theme/basement

changes must be on file constants.ini (themes/blanco/meegotouch)
