Slap this in the face of all the idiots asking blindly for the next N900 to be capacitive!

Very very nice! Resistive rules.

The demo is awesome - multi-touch and stylus input at the same time.
(The demonstrator even used a brush on the screen!)

This is exactly what was needed.

I take it there is a hardware element to this rather than just the firmware? A hardware element that isn't yet implemented on the nokia phones

There can be no multi touch on the N900. It's possible to simulate it with clever software that can recognise gestures - but it's not true multi touch like a capacitive screen.

Very interesting.

If Multi-Touch is something that can come to the N900 then it looks much better for the likelihood of Meego.

The OP comment is misleading. QT 4.6 has support for multi touch. However, since the N900 is lacking the hardware to implement multi touch the firmware having QT 4.6 is not going to make the N900 register multitouch events.

So,
QT 4.6 in new firmware------------> yes
Multitouch on N900 with new firmware--------> no
