I installed Goldendict from repositories, first of all in menu "Dictionaries" I configured the dictionaries folder path, and it took a long time to create the indexes, but after this time it could open some dicts which Stardict couldn't open.

However it is too difficult to manage the dictionaries since the interface size is not correctly resize for maemo, sometimes the buttons are displayed out of the screen or some areas are too small to show the contents.

In preferences I test selecting "Lingvo" mode and Goldendict got frozen.

Are you using on a N800 or N810?
I couldn't check yet the sound features? are working correctly?

what do you mean?
yukop4: I don't understand what do you mean with "zaz-"
Anyway I could manage with the preferences and dictionaries menus, sometimes the text boxes shows only 1 content line, or the info should have smaller font however I could create groups of dictionaries and now I can use correctly.

I think goldendict will replace the stardict in my devices

Goldendict is working good with stardict and babylon (bgl file) dictionaries, even a wikipedia for babylon is working fine.

After some problems with the sound I realized some facts:

-mplayer can't play too small music files such as 1 sec. or less duration
-mplayer can play .LSA (Lingvo x3 sound file)
-madplay can play the very small audio files
-madplay can't play .LSA sound file, a scratch sound is listened

In preferences, there is a input box regarding the sound player and by default it contains "mplayer" but you can install "madplay" (command line mp3 player) and replace mplayer with madplay.

Anyway I still looking for a final solution for listen either Lingvo x3 LSA sound or WyabdcRealPeopleTTS sound.

Do you know more maemo commands to play a .mp3 or .wav file?
what about .lsa format file?
