When you say cluster server, you really mean a bunch of USB drives, don't you?

I get a kick seeing that only ONE person voted that they experienced the outage and hoped it would STAY down. Nihilism is alive and well--except when it's destroyed itself in the process, I guess.

I deleted my facebook account 1 week prior to outage. So I learn about it only from media. I feel so good without pointless and useless statuses of my "friends". My informational environment is clean and clear right now.

Probably i will be in minority on this one but anyway
Came across some information for consideration and not surprised at all that its happening. Never was a big fun of all these social networking things nothing new and special about it always blowing out of proportion and driven by BIG $$$

Noobs.

Facebook is a privacy bomb. That's, of course, if you use your name, number, address, photo and details. Enter Bart Simpson. No pictures of myself, my surroundings, any traceable details. Email is a redirect through a public, free mail redirect service. IP is dynamic. I am user 9754831.

As they say in the cartoon world, Meep, meep. *gone*

But what will you do when Facebook comes down on YOU, brutha?
Actually, that kinda leads to a good question for people who like to predict the future!

Now that Google, Youtube, MySpace (yes, it's mostly gone now), Facebook and all these other trendies have had "the buzz" for a while...

What do YOU think will be the next "big thing" on the Internet?

I hate Facebook, and I voted for "Yes - But I was hoping it would STAY down. Darn!"

Next big thing will be a combination of Mobile/Cloud/Alien.
You can also add "Time travel" to the list
