So I ended up using (isopropyl) alcohol wipes - and dried it with a lint free cloth. I had to use a solvent, and not just cloth, because earlier I tried to remove dust with a lint roller and its sticky glue stuck itself on the screen.
Lesson learnt: Don't use lint roller to clean screens

I use sandpaper
Gives a lovely matte finish
