Maybe the reason it isn't giving me OTA update is because i don't have enough memory in the root folder?? I mean...it lets me update using OTA with the last minor update ...why not this version?? C'mon man!!

And did it keep asking you for a backup?? I am sick of it keep asking me for backup because i already backed UP!!! This is getting so ******ed!!

i am using the software updater in windows 7. i just set the compatibility mode to vista SP2

I was fighting all day to get the damn thing. First it kept telling me I didnt have enough battery charge but it was indicating it was 3/4 charged. Later on when I got home I put it on the charger and it kept telling me I didnt have enough space. I had to delete a couple things I had downloaded. The sad thing is this phone is suppose to have a decent size hard drive and yet I had more room on my blackberry than what they will let me do on this.

like said before:
pc suite is most likely triggered because you have enabled devel and/or testing repos. or installed any app out of them.
you could also try to do it via terminal and apt-get: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=473178

Updated it yesterday and battery life is fine (it was fine for me to begin with).

My problem now is that when browsing network shares on a DLNA server, all videos (divx/xvid) have stopped playing - I only get audio. Before the update, I was able to watch them just fine.

Anyone else experience this? The 2 default videos that come with the device work fine.

Other clients don't have this problem with the DLNA server.

See http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40548 for suggestions on fixing the OTA update and http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=40150 for suggestions on freeing up space on rootfs.

I had the same problem. I disabled all other than Nokia Catalogs in in the Application Manager while doing the update and it helped.

I'm finally getting my device today and wondering should I use flasher or SSU. I guess it doesn't really matter, but just wondering.

What is the recommended way with devices on the market that have not yet been sold but have the old firmware. Is it okay to flash the device before even turning it on once?

For me battery life greatly improved with the PR 1.1 release. YMMV, but I'm really happy now.
