Hi,

I wanted to connect some headphones to my N900. But all I got was humming. Sennheiser px-100-IIi. Is it possible to handle such headphones on N900.

I am not sure. A headphone 3.5mm jack may have two, three or four conductors. Compatibility is unpredictable.
Best wishes.
Bumping...

Yeah, I can see that the px-100-IIi is an iPhone-compatible set of headphones. The iPhone standard is incompatible with the one used by the N900. (My old iPhone earphones don't work either.)

This is likely to be the issue.
It's a shame that there is a standard pinout for manufacturers to follow and yet hardly anybody uses it. If your headphones don't work blame Apple.

It's how a (semi-)monopoly ends ;(

Is there any way to be sure that headphones are compatible with N900?
Other case: will iPhone headphones work with the N9(50)?

I have a set of CX-250 earbuds by the same company. Also advertised at some places as iPhone-compatible, and they work great on the N900 as well as the N9.

By the way, IIRCC, the original earbuds that come with the N900 were also the make of Sennheiser.
