peterleinchen, how do you switch between N900 and N9 and back? After I told everyone to use my new phone number following my foolish move to start using Jolla as my main device, I tried to move the new SIM card back to my trusty N900 but it would not work. Apparently the micro-SIM adapter does not provide enough grip to maintain solid contacts or something like that.

Saw this thread and i though i should say i use my N900 for nearly 5 years everyday. Now im using my second n900 because first one was stolen by bad people... Maybe in last 2 years im gonna buy BB Priv with physical keyboard or wait for Santa to bring me a brand new Nokia n950 under my christmas tree hehe...

P.S N900 is so rare like our Earth in universe

Mine reaches six years on december, I do not remember the exact date (can look it up though if needed). It is still my main phone, altough the usage has lessened somewhat when I decided to move private e-mail to second Jolla.

Lately it has started acting up, but I'm going to use it up to six years if it does not turn into a brick. I might get it serviced, thorough cleaning.

If it breaks down, I'll have to consider integrationg rest of the usage to my second Jolla, or maybe I'll activate a third Jolla. First Jolla is my work phone.

Unfortunatly I've gone evil and turned to Android LGG4.

But...
I passed two of my n900s to my children (11 and 9) and they are very happy with. Playing games, hearing music. I explained in details to my daughter why the n900 is better than iphone (a friend of her said it was old and so on). So the light is still here. And I'm not sure I*won't get back to it sometimes.

Swapped the SIM back into the still-functional N900 today, it had a bunch of panic button* SMSs queued up that it sent upon being powered up.

*I've got a script triggered by a desktop icon that sends a text to my wife if I'm "kidnapped by aliens". Mostly as a joke, but could perhaps come in handy at parties if I get cornered and can't escape. If I went to parties.

I had a Mini SIM with break-out Micro. So I decided to give it a try and broke and put into N9. But as I wanted to test also my N950 I was afraid to put it in the N950 SIM slot just loosely inside the adapter. Then I took some 2-component adhesive and glued the SIM back into the adapter. Took a cutter and fine sand paper and had a 'new' Mini SIM and no problems.

Maybe some tape and paper between SIM and battery may do the trick also?

If your Santa happens to come to my house earlier than yours and leave a bunch of dollars, this might happen ...

Real big.
As I still love it, it is unique, it is new, it would be THE device. Still there is no successor -not any phone on whole mobile market- that I would prefer over that one (maybe Neo900 ) if there would not be the display problem (reason I never used that device).
