Ask a friend his simcard. Check if problem is still present.
I have a Free Mobile simcard. It works well.

RECOVERING FROM FLASH ERRORS

Note: If you did not receive any errors, you can skip this section.

In some cases, the new firmware image includes cellular modem (CMT) firmware that is older than what is already installed. This has typically happened when flashing N9s running 003 (China) firmware with other firmware variants. If you received an error about flashing the CMT, obtain the image for the firmware that was previously installed, then run:

Code:
flasher -f -F old_main.bin --flash-only=cmt
If you previously upgraded your phone "over the air" (through SSU) and now receive a Downgrade disallowed error when flashing, try flashing an image with a higher variant code. For example, if you experienced the error with variant 001, try using variant 005 instead.

With what fw, i flash with this command?

Okay..FFFFFFFFFF
I'm downloading the main.bin's chinnese version and will try with
flasher -f -F old_main.bin --flash-only=cmt

I privately bought a white N9 (still in awe of its beauty :P).
The seller said he had no problems with it, the last time it was used (years ago). He tested it for me & came back saying it would not recognise a SIM card.

I bought it anyway expecting broken 'sim pins'. By looking down the port it looks fine to me (comparing with working & broken pin phones).
I have looked through all the threads with title keyword 'SIM'.
It's a Chinese phone. I've tested with 2 SIMs / cleaned with eraser / sandwiching paper / swapping SIM trays.
IMEI etc are all indicated on "About Product" page (with/without SIM).

I've "Zeroize flashed" with Australia firmware -> expected errors -> used Chinese firmware for CMT -> indicated successful (MD5 correct).
Still not recognising SIM (now indicates "Emergency calls only) & NO error messages.

I've read that the battery can be a cause. Does long battery life cancel this out?

Should I open up the phone? Ideas?

Edit: Just tried to flash with only the Chinese firmware, which failed (with SIM).

I had this with Symbian Phone. Bad Battery made that Sim not recongnized.
Maybe put it charging. Does it now recognize the SIM?
