Need to run the mumbai-indicator, application in my handset. it runs smoothly on symbian and java handsets.

Then it is probably a mobile java application. Search the forums for microemulator, it should be able to run it.

use microemulator and icetea,they are present in repos

icedtea*, not icetea. it's (to my understanding) an open source JDK and JRE

Thanks everybody. It worked successfully.

But the display size is too small. I think it can be better viewed in Portrait mode.

Any, suggestions to operate microemulator in Portrait mode???

Please provide some instruction step by step about how to run .jar files as you are able to run it

You can create a skin for microemu. There are several here on the forum already. Please use the search function.

@all
Oracles java for embedded works much better than the outdated icedtea from the repo. Again use Google or the search function.

There is PhoneME from DavyP which works really great! I am able to run the most jar games and apps from my old symbian phone.

You have to download the deb file. Then you can install the deb file as root using

dpkg -i

This installs also a gui which can be used to start jar and jad files. It is possible to change between portrait and landscape mode.
