If you install a .deb file made for Maemo onto the N9, the icon will be put in the wrong place. You can fix this easily in the terminal ( you may need to be root, can't remember). Type this:

mv /usr/lib/applications/hildon/ioquake3.desktop /usr/lib/applications

Mind you, I'm not sure thta ioquake3.desktop is the name of the desktop file associated with the Maemo Quake 3, but it'll be something close to that. Just do the following to determine the quake desktop file name:

ls /usr/lib/applications/hidon

Then look at what comes, back. One of those .desktop files will be for quake.

i got q3 working but deleted it after a while because it's not possible to play the game solely with a touchscreen (controls are horrible..)

anyway:

ifaik ioquake has no desktop icon (at least i didn't have one) so you gotta start it via the terminal

Blimey, use autocomplete to avoid errors. Type few first charachters of a command or path and press tab.

Probably a shell tutorial would not go to waste. So here you go:

I'm trying to run Quake 2 for my part but I still get errors when installing.
Terminal say :
chown: /home/user/.quake2/baseq2/config.cfg : Operation not permitted
chown: /home/user/.quake2/baseq2 : Operation not permitted

Any idea to solve it ? I'm root and I've tried to incept the package too, no result...

Don't do those commands as root; just as regular user is sufficient for them to work...
