Well after reading a lot of request asking to remove Orientation Lock from status menu i decided to show all CSSU Testing user how to remove it.....

STEP 1......

make sure you have install these apps/program on your device....
1.filebox
2.leafpad (for editing in filebox)
3.Powatool

STEP 2......

Open filebox and make sure at filebox setting you use....
1.leafpad at text editor....
2.enable root access...
3.show hidden files and folders....

STEP 3......

Using filebox navigate to this path......

Code:
/usr/share/applications/hildon-status-menu
look for status-area-orientationlock-applet.desktop....
once you have found it then press & hold at it to open one popup....
select edit in that popup....editor mode will open using leafpad....

STEP 4......

in editor mode you will see like this......

Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Orientation lock
Comment=Orientation lock applet
Category=permanent
Type=default
X-Path=lib-orientationlock-status-menu.so
using leafpad (editor mode) all you need to do is delete this line.....

Code:
Category=permanent
Save the files after you have deleted the line.....exit leafpad (editor mode) & filebox completely.....

STEP 5......

Open Powatool & select status bar....untick Orientation lock then you done....

STEP 6.....

open status menu to see the result.....

STEP 7.....

Press The Thanks Button Below If My Step Works

as long as the line is still there then you will never remove it from status menu....
the line show it made to be permanent so by deleting the line you can remove it just like other status menu applet....

if checking & unchecking is that easy to remove it than why CSSU team tell CSSU Testing user that it is impossible to remove it

well if you using CSSU Stable then yes it easy to remove/hide it but if you using CSSU Testing then Orientation Lock is permanent...

Why not simply
Code:
cd /usr/share/applications/hildon-status-menu
mkdir disabled
mv status-area-orientationlock-applet.desktop disabled/
That's how Powatool does it.
If you want to reverse then
Code:
cd /usr/share/applications/hildon-status-menu
mv disabled/status-area-orientationlock-applet.desktop ./
