So why do all my other devices, including Maemo 4 devices, work fine on this router and ISP?

And I have never had any problems with anything on this connection before. My N800, N810, all my Symbian S60 devices, Nintendo Wii, Windows, Linpus, Xandros, Ubuntu PCs all work absolutely fine on this connection with this router.

And like I said, everything else works, including Maemo Extras through wi-fi and cellular.
I wonder if they monkeyed with the DNS timeout time on the N900?

I don't know if this is what you're asking, but it takes a VERY long time to time out, about 5 or 10 minutes.

That's the question. If you couldn't access downloads.maemo.nokia.com from any of your devices, it would be pretty clearly akamai or isp problem. But if only N900 is failing, I don't know.

fnordianslip, I'm not really doing this for my own benefit, I want to find out why my N900 would have problems when all these other devices don't.

Hang on, I'll check to make sure I didn't do that on cellular by accident...

Sorry!

Okay, I just did it again making sure it was on wi-fi and here's what I got:

Server: 127.0.0.1
Address 1: 127.0.0.1 Nokia-N900-42-11

Name: downloads.maemo.nokia.com
Address 1: 193.184.164.144 downloads.maemo.nokia.com

(there was no Address 2)
