I'd like to pull one of the alarm sounds off of my N800 (the waves crashing one) to use as an alarm on my Android phone. I'm thinking those are on a hidden portion of the internal memory that I can't view with the stock file manager. Any hint where these files are located? I've searched but wasn't able to find anything useful.

I believe they are stored in /usr/share/sounds/ on maemo5, it may be the same for you.

You can also change them in Applications -> Control Panel -> Sounds for a new ringtone and when you're setting an alarm as well.

Yes, but for this I wasn't looking to change them on the N800, just wanted to pull the file off and use it as a ring tone on my Note. There is some kind of conflict between Advanced Backlight and the alarm function that makes the N800 unusable as an alarm.

I've been using Advanced Backlight for 5 years and never had a problem with any alarms.

I can even mute the volume and it still will sound when needed.

I'm not sure why you are having issues.

Sorry.
