720@576@25

if recording in HD resolutions, esp 1280x720 it is better to use class 10 SD card as storage, as if internal flash is used stuttering occur. For some reason actual HD framerate is about 20, will investigate further.
After installing this... a reboot is recommended? I opened the camara ui and can't see HD option to record 720p

do:
Code:
chmod +x /usr/bin/camera-ui
And:
Code:
ls -l /usr/bin/camera-ui
And you will sucessfully have this:
Code:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 196901 2011-05-09 21:12 /usr/bin/camera-ui
After that reboot!

All works ok so far.
I just notice when I go to resolution selection screen it writes
camerabdresolutionhd16x9.
I think its better to edit cameraui to write the resolution hehe. Just as the fix.
The rest are ok except the performance on recording 720p push the phone to the max. Overclock from 700:600 to 1000:600 make the video record smoothest but not perfect.
I was wondering if the phone use only DSP for recording or use both cpu? if not why overclocking main cpu give better performance? also recording CPU goes to 100%

I don't know if it apply here, but (reliable) class 4 cards are generally *much* better at random access/writing/reading, but class 6/10 cards are superior in bulk write/read.

HD recording seems to be the second situation, so it's best to have 2 cards around - class 4 for swap on microSD, and class 10 for HD recording. If this is really the source of stuttering...

@zylor: any success yet?

I am facing the same situation here - followed the freemangordon's 720p video instructions and installed the packages from http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1104719

Rebooted device after each step, and still no HD button...

Any pointers?

Hy guys, new version here. This one should record DVD/HD videos with following stable fps:

1280x720@25
960x720@30
1024x576@30
720x576@30

Even if you use stock DSP codecs or stock kernel it is still worth to install it, it should record more smooth videos(i.e. no stutter at all) for stock resolutions.

What is still missing is correct labels for HD/DVD resolutions and appropriate icons. I would appreciate if someone helps me with the icons as I am an awful graphics designer
