The black Eees are available in the UK right now for preorder. Same spec as the white/cream ones, but around £10 ($20) more.

There's a similar arrangement with MacBooks, where the black Macbook has a marginally better spec compared to the white ones but costs a lot more. Over in the Apple camp they refer to this as the 'black tax'.

Gotta admit, the black makes the necessarily wasted space to the left and right of the screen stand out less.

Are all the black ones running XP? What a pity... such a nice looking subnotebook in those images otherwise.

it lists the os as linux, with hardware being windows xp compatible. hell, reading that brings a tear to my eye
