N810 update worked flawlessly - upgraded from previous community SSU from a few months back.

Well done and thank you.

Could someone explain the bug-3243 problem? I did at one point have USB networking installed on my N800, but have since reflashed; and I no longer have that Windows computer that was configured for it. I don't remember specifically having problems with the networking, but...

Also--any chance that we'll ever get a newer kernel than 2.6.21? I mean.. it IS August of 2010, not April of 2007.

In the form of a country song, of course.

Well, several people are working on that in other contexts (eg MeeGo/Nitroid) so it might happen. I'm not sure how useful it would be (vs what we already have) for running a Diablo userland, but it's a very worthwhile goal nevertheless.

Here's the explanation from the upstream commit:

If Indexed Mode register accesses are enabled, the ep0_rxstate()
function calls musb_g_ep0_giveback() before writing to the CSR
register. When control returns to this ep0_rxstate, the index
register contents are over-written. This causes the CSR register
write to fail.

Fixed by writing the correct value into the index register before
writing to the CSR.

This was observed only in ep0_rxstate() with g_ether loaded and
the device connected to a MS Windows host PC. Anticipatively fixed
ep0_txstate() as well.
I don't do Windows myself and USB networking (eg bootmenu) has always worked fine for me with Linux hosts without the patch so I can't offer any useful comments :-/
