I had a nice surprise with the n9. Seems i can't import plain vcards as contacts...



So i made a little cli importer that i share sources & all.

Usage:
Code:
/opt/qimportvcard/bin/qimportvcard [-h|--help] [-v] file.vcf [file2.vcf] [...]
I was a little lazy so it has no gui. Also deb description is empty... Aegis permissions are ok.

Updated it. Same functionality, less insane output.

I could make QAD vCard Importer ..just say "Thanks" to this message if it sounds like a great idea.

You mean using his source and just adding GUI and selling it at ovi?
If yes than "no thanks", if i'm wrong - don't ask - there are people who need it for sure

P.S. What is this "thank "obsession about?

It is easier to write 100% own code and release one version just for you for 100e ..and then the other version which I asked which would be obviously free and open source.

I thought about creating a vcard editor that support most X- fields , once but does it worth it ?

Btw, is the vcard format associated in the console? as in if i use Qt.openUrlExternally would it get imported or something?

If not then the importer app should add that association and do it later on. And maybe that is only what is needed for that current console only version? Somebody needs just to define the mimetypes and actions for it. After which any file manager application would do the trick.

I feel a bit too lazy to try it out.

Yes, please, especially if you also provide the option to share (by e-mail, bluetooth, etc).
