This is not really an answer to your question, but gpsbabel may solve your problem (converting between different mapping apps):

well i would try pspad.
But though i do not know the origin tools you are using, i once found a lot
of software to convert gps data with google maps file format to get back into
other tools.
Unfortunately i can not remember them, as i stopped to use that service
on my project called www.endorphinum.de

But as said: i would suggest pspad.

I've used Tex-Edit Plus before and it works nice on the mac os x side. Though you might have more choices on the window side.
