Sometimes I think that there are high political and economic reasons to block the development of the n900.

Is the n900 military to dangerous?
Does it allow to much control over the phone and data transmission?
Can you construct bombs with the n900?
Can it be used for coding or transmission of uncontrolled data?

Is the n900 a danger for closed software cartels?

Is Nokia paid or urged to stop the development of the n900?

You might be right. It's too good, too free, too hackable, in a brave new world where there's always a app for that (TM).

I don't even know why there was such a need to abandon Maemo and start from scratch. From my user standpoint, Maemo5 was perfectly good, and in fact it lets me do anything I want. Maybe the point is exactly that: I shouldn't be allowed to do anything I want

I am very glad my Pandora has arrived eventually. I think that I might also get another n900 from ebay and f.o. all those new, shiny, glamorous, drm'd things that are coming.

Now you know why they've started serving pop-corn in tin-foil buckets

You can quickly throw the bucket over your head if you need to and you'll be completely safe.

I can see the headlines now. "Krakow Gas Board Agent Arrested For Using Nokia N900"

Now that you're saying it... I've sometimes noticed black suited men with dark glasses and earpieces stop talking to their mics and observe me as I walk by them, tapping on my N900...

You think they're on to me?

You really should try to keep this quiet. Don't let them know you know.Start stockpiling N900s. You might just save the world. Some of the good people are actually living in their N900s. Listen to their voices and do what they say.
