I have no problem with @RzR reminding people of the original contract the device falls under.
All of the devices were granted to people without a payment as far as I know, something to keep in mind even when you consider the original contract voided. Would you want to test that in a court?

Nokia Technologies still holds the rights for Maemo & Meego, those were not transfefred to MS in the NMP deal.

To be honest , I care less of the legal terms than what people are going to do with those amazing platforms, there is still so much to be done, as long as this community is existing it matters to me.

I also love the community. But the activity is as self-serving as it has always been in many cases.

I dislike this new agenda. It's divisive and doesn't take into account that these devices might spur curiousity organically and make buyers into devs. No. You have to be a developer from day one?

That wasn't even the case when they were given out or awarded to certain folks.

Absolutely hate this new agenda. It's the pits.

Btw who is still using his n950 ?
I use one since 2011 and bought a few more for the spare parts because I plan to use n950 for several more years as there is no better phone in the foreseeable future and no spare parts anywhere for sale.
To be honest I've killed my first phone already (broke the LCD) and transferred the motherboard to a new one to not to spend time reflashing/rooting/installing apps/transferring data/etc. But the flash chips are too old already and I see lots of "ECC corrected" errors in dmesg so I'm afraid I will have to go for it in the next months with the next n950

There is an auction of the Nokia N950 on Allegro - the Polish equivalent of the eBay.
http://allegro.pl/nokia-n950-develop...580180688.html
The auction is without the minimal price.
The seller have published the auction a few times before but it seems there was no buyer.

I am not affiliated with the seller.
I publish it only for the information purposes.

Nice phone(in nice condition too) that went for the nice price.

Anybody can give me link to the firmware for that beast? (It's already on PR 1.3, but I like playing hardly with software, so need of reflash is only matter of time).

BTW, can I install ubiboot on n950 and upload n9(64GB, but resizing FS is not a problem for me) image (or at least home directory and configs[not sure about aegis encryption of accounts, etc])?

I'm also scared about using micro-sim in adapter (is it safe?) in this phone (I know it's once been resoldered because of adapter[w/o sim] insertion).

Nice catch

the FW was/is to find on the bay (not e but pirate).

ubiboot installation goes as with the N9, use the latest version

what do you want to do?
upload content of another N9? Could work but never tried...

I was scared and put 'only' a normal mini SIM, but once for testing also a macro with adapter. BUT I glued it into the adapter with some two-component epoxy (so no chance of hooking/clamping).
