As for me, I do not need any of these even for free. What is the clue to invest efforts into two dumb/outdated and restrictive and loosing platforms? Looks like a waste of time. Not to mention bunch of new restrictions imposed by MS.

Here are some suggestions for having some fun with the WP7 devices when they arrive.

I can. Because WP7 loses it's market share even faster. The ONLY vendor who lost not just in SHARE but also in UNITS SUPPLIED was ... MS with their Windows. There was ~12M devices sold this year and ~15M last year. So WP7 hasn't helped 'em too much. And even Symbian increased numbers of devices sold while losing market share (this is possible due to quickly growing market). Any reasons why Elop can't be blamed? His choice is not neutral and he just cares about his own pocket and MS (since he haves some MS shares) rather than what will happen with Nokia (he does not haves Nokia shares at all so he loses nothing in any scenario).

But I reckon if they've got WP7 phones to give out already, this merger must have been in the pipeline for quite some time, before it was actually announced.
Agree except put WP7 in bin. Better smash it hard in the wall to make sure no one else use such crap!

Get this straight E7 is s^3 and using Qt and QT IS NOT DEAD!

but if you and others continue say soo you let Ballmer team win the competiotion and maybe you will prefer WP7?

Qt Engineers will Fight back! (in or outside Nokia!)
So support them instead of spreading F-U-D! Else leave the compunity wee dont need you here go Android/WebOS or whatever but we must all stop this bad rumors if we still beleives in qt/meego in or outside Nokia.

Yeah sure. Qt devs want to keep their jobs but Elop will kill it before christmas. Qt is a bigger threat to MS than MeeGo is and Elop must obey his master.

I developed a Application for Maemo and published this to Maemo Extras.

I used Python and PyQt. I'm currently learning in my spare time C++ and Qt, preparing myself to publish more stuff targeting Maemo, MeeGo and perhaps Symbian.

I'm programming a lot at work using the Microsoft .NET Framework. So, perhaps, I'm also able to target Windows Phone 7. (but there are currently no plans to do so, I don't like the OS... but who knows?)

So, where I could get a E7 and a Windows Phone 7 for prototyping?!
Or have I to get a account for the Ovi Store first? I don't have such one because I don't want to sell my Applications and the Ovi Store works not very well regarding Maemo and I would have to pay to publish Applications without earning Money. (I don't like this fact.)

So, where are my Development Devices, E7 and WP7?

Did you even read my post stiill you start spread FUD Microsoft cant kill Qt it is an impossible mission!!! Only YOU and similar FUDers can do it by indirecly help Microsoft by spreading false rumors about stuff yolu dont have a clue about!

I have been in the oss community for over ten years stuff has been critical before and companys has tried to kill oss community before but they alwasy fail!!

I am sure the EU commision wouldnt accept Microsoft to kill Qt!! not a chanse!!.I also did think like you before but after rethinking there is only one way too kill Qt and thats if devs leaves the community. Ofcourse Microsoft want this but by saying like you and others you play Microsofts game!!!

You have the right too be angry about Nokias decisions and I am for sure also pissed but dont play Mikcrosofts game by spreading false/untrue ******** statements. that only hurt the community aand feeds Microsoft!

I may sound like i dictator or soo but I dont know how too say it tooo make it clear. but look at the planetqt.org and GIT qt is active and the QtTrolls WILL FIGHT BACK!
