anyone put up a bug report on this?? I am having the same thing...

did the tracker-processes -r

but still not updating.. my mediabox updated after finding my media player not working...

My Solution
I tot of removing and putting back the memory storage or the MicroSD into the phone..

So i just hook the phone to my pc via usb.. connect as mass storage

dc 'em

open media player.. indexing begins....

MediaBox doesn't have to rely on tracker. You can browse to folders in the MediaBox file browser and long-press the folder item. Then select "Scan for Media" to have the stuff scanned manually. If tracker happens to find this stuff later, and it was already scanned by MediaBox, nothing bad happens. You can also disable automatic (tracker-based) scanning in MediaBox if you wish to only scan manually.

Just wanted to chime in...this worked perfectly for me.
tracker-processes -r wiped everything out
and then starting up media player seemed to kick off trackerd process of rescanning my SD card. I closed media player, and then reopened...and THEN it gave me the message "Retrieving information on the new media files. Estimated time remaining: 04:44" and started counting down.

Thanks for the tips on this!! Much appreciated.

I had this with mine too, and I must have had little patience LOL

What I ended up doing was leaving the tracker process running (as a user) overnight, then in the morning I rebooted the phone and opened Media Player and all my media was back

previous attempts I had only left it running about half an hour which for me clearly wasnt long enough

I've been having the same problems: running "tracker-processes -r" (as root) used to reset the database and force a re-scan. Somewhere along the line, it stopped working.

Thanks to these posts it's fixed.

The following worked for me, as user:
Code:
rm /var/tmp/tracker-user/cache.db
tracker-processes -r
I didn't try running "tracker-processes -r" as user before so I don't know whether that would have worked on its own.

im at my wit's end right now

rm /var/tmp/tracker-user/cache.db
tracker-processes -r

will not work for me. whats the next best thing to do here?
did it several times and i also rebooted it. to no avail.
will a reflash work?

Photos would just say No images. Media player has no video or anything as well. this is nuts.

Memorycard (internal or external) corrupted?
Try to fsck the memorycard.
A faulty video/image file, which can not be processed
by the thumbnailer?
Open xterm and enter the top command. If the thumbnailerd
consumes all processortime, it has some problems
with a media file.
