@qu3 What image are you using. Souren's newer images fix this issue. Alternatively, if you apply the proximity sensor patch after boot (check the Wiki page), the bug should disappear.

I didn't. I was doing the whole process halfway with Windows until I am stuck at Ubiboot. Thanks to the guys who help me earlier, I use the vmware to open up Linux and continue the installation of Ubiboot and Sailfish.

I think it is Sailfish 1.0.0.5. Updating to this newer image will resolve this issue right?

And about there is something odd about the ubiboot. I can boot into Sailfish but now I just can't boot into Harmattan.
Already tried to let it boot into Harmattan by not pressing anything but screen goes blank right after that.

I wonder what is wrong. But I did copy the "zImage_2.6.32.54-openmode_l2fix" which was flashed earlier into "/media/rootfs/boot".

If you do:
cd /media/rootfs/boot
md5sum ./*

You should have:
b64bc24b96faf6763f5e403eb5c7f528 ./zImage_2.6.32.54-openmode_l2fix

If the file is there with that md5 sum, harmattan should boot fine.

what should I do if the md5 sum is incorrect? and, for the newer image, I notice there is two version, r1 and r2. What is the difference between them?

Bah, I can't get the store working on the Max image. It shows the store, and the store repo updates, but I can't download anything from the GUI and the zypper search shows only a handful of "harbour" packages, mostly all installed.

I'm going to try copying the SourenAraya/vgrade r2 image over top of the Max image and see if I can get the best of both worlds

Sigh. No. It isn't the best of both worlds. It fixes nothing.
Ok, I'll give the plain R2 image a try.

Check that your preinits are correct.
And check the ubiboot support thread for these problems...

How do I check my preinits?

I have checked the ubiboot support thread.
There is a section where "back-to-back flashing" is written.
For my device, I did not do the back-to-back flashing.
Could this be the cause of Harmattan failed to boot up on my device?
