I'm experiencing trouble activating zram.

During boot it says at one point:
Code:
Activating swapfile swap, if any...done.
Later it says:
Code:
root: Starting Zram
/usr/sbin/zramswap: line 53: echo: write error: Invalid argument
Error: setting compression algo to lz4
Once booted up,
Code:
cat /etc/default/zramswap
confirms that
Code:
SIZE=1024
But
Code:
sudo zramswap status
shows all values of /dev/zram0 at 0B

Code:
sudo swapon
says
Code:
/dev/mmcblk1p3 partition 768M 29M -2
Leste is installed on a fresh highspeed MicroSD.

Please, do not try to re activate zramswap (to avoid troubles) and ignore zram error on boot.

The mmcblk1p3 partition you see is the mmc swap (768MB), that's the best option actually and works fine

Ah, OK! Thanks for the warning! I was hoping for a slight boost of responsiveness, though... I guess I'll look into overclocking then.

Ok, did you already upgrade to devel ? Should be far more responsive.

Just in case: edit /etc/apt/sources.list and add:

Code:
deb https://maedevu.maemo.org/leste chimaera-devel main contrib non-free n900
BTW overclock is available out of the box now in devel (see N900 Leste wiki).

Thanks for the hint! I'm looking at this paraghraph:
https://leste.maemo.org/Nokia_N900#Overclocking

"Overclocking is now available in -devel using cpufreq boost.
It uses 250-500-550-600-720-805-850MHz frequencies
To enable it, edit:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/boost
And replace 0 by 1."

But this here gives me a headache - /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/boost doesn't exist on my machine. How do I get it?

It means that you didn't upgrade to devel or didn't reboot after upgrade

Aaah, sorry! That I have to do a sudo apt-get dist-upgrade was not obvious to me! Running right now!

EDIT: The upgrade went without issues. For some reason the OC-tweaks stated above keep resetting after reboot, though.

That's perfectly normal, that's the way boost mode works in cpufreq. (Keeping the 'safe' max 600MHz frequency on boot)
