Then Yappari has never been executed in your N900?

If Yappari can't write to /home/user/.config it will crash.

After following your instructions, this is what I got. How come is it not detecting the latest version of Yappari?

If you read this thread a few posts back you'll see that the repositories are not working again and 0.0.35 hasn't been imported to it.

So if you want to upgrade to 0.0.35 you have to do it manually, and if you can't because you consider it very hard to do just wait for the repositories maintainers to fix them.

EDIT: Anyway show us the output of: dpkg -l | grep -i yappari

Try:

chown -R user:users /home/user/.config

If /home/user/.yappari does not exist:

mkdir -p /home/user/.yappari
chown user:users /home/user/.yappari

If /home/user/.yappari exists:

chown -R user:users /home/user/.yappari
rm /home/user/.yappari/chats.db
rm /home/user/.yappari/roster.db

And then try again.

what is the output of this command:
# ls -la /home/user/ | grep config
# ls -la /home/user/.config | grep yappari
# ls -la /home/user/.config/yappari
And try running Yappari from command line as user:
$ Yappari

Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

~ $ Yappari

That's not the way to execute Yappari:

run-standalone.sh /usr/bin/Yappari
