a python code requires python-tk to run.

so i go to x-term and type

root
apt-get install python-tk

and i get the following
Code:
Nokia-N900:~# apt-get install python-tk
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package python-tk is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
python2.5
E: Package python-tk has no installation candidate
knowing i already have python2.5, i give this a try
apt-get install python2.5

and it says its installed.

so how do i go about installing this python-tk.

i downloaded this package from here and tried to open it via file manager and i get the error "Incompatible Application Package"

Help please.

nvm used sudo dpkg -i python-tk_2.6.3-0mamoe1_armel.deb

and it worked (after installing btl, tk and tcl)
