i know this have been brought up many times, i have searched and spent many hours on the forum and google trying to resolve this. (actually going into more than 24hrs in total)
my n900 is stuck. i have been able to activate rd mode (no initfs \o/ screen)
the device seems not to cold flash
the emmc seems not to flash (no suitable device) but fiasco flashes
at one point it got stuck on the "2nd circle" of the load screen.
trust me i have tried everything but somehow i think i am missing one factor or so.
the phone constantly connects and discoonect when the usb is plugged in
on disconnecting the usb from phone the phone just stays at the nokia logo (white screen) and reboots...
i personally do not think all is lost, i just do not know the next step so some help would be appreciated.
thank you.

this first script has worked but the 2nd script has failed,
So I have made a bit of progress. The flash keeps dying at cmt-mcusw. From doing a search noticed that the only items left after cmt-mcusw was the kernel and rootfs. So I extracted the pr1.3 image:

flasher-3.5 -u RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.002_PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin

then manually installed the kernel with

flasher-3.5 -k zImage -f

and then finally rootfs

flasher-3.5 -r rootfs-jffs2 -f -R

that failed

Quick reply...
Somebody, please, help. I am not an expert on cold flashing (I have done it once, long ago), so, unfortunately, I cannot be of assistance with this problem.

Hi Robert,

Sorry for not getting back to your PMs sooner mate. I have been working throughout the weekend and whilst I have been at my desk, I have not had chance to sit down without distraction

Can you tell us what OS and version you have? XP, win7, 32/64gb etc...

Win7 64bit...
i think i need to cold flash but ive tried this from the wiki and it gives an error about 2nd.bin not found
flasher-3.5 -c -h RX-51:2101 -2 2nd.bin-RX-51\:2101\,2102\,2103 -s secondary.bin-RX-51\:2101\,2102\,2103 -S usb
have also tried:
flasher-3.5 -h <device>:<hwrev> -F <fiasco> -c -S usb
"no suitable device found"
and the one time it did begin to flash i got:
USB device found found at bus bus-0, device address \\.\libusb0-0002--0x04
106.
Waiting for ASIC id...
Got 69 bytes.
ASIC ID:
05 01 05 01 34 30 07 57 13 02 01 00 12 15 01 ea

not sure what is the correct cold flash command and if any of these are the exact command either.
the device flashes the fiasco easily (not the emmc "not suitable device found")
doing my head in...

OK it does sound as though you might be affected by the old win7-64bit problem still. I will admit to never seeing this problem myself when I have flashed my phone, I think I know why but can't say here

You said in your PM that you ran the USB fix but that still did not help. Can I ask if you have rebooted your PC since running the libs?

Another thing to try would be to try and flash with another USB cable / Port or a completely different PC?

One other popular scenario would be to use an Ubuntu Live CD as this would load the generic USB drivers as it boots in to the OS. The commands are almost the same too, almost.

Hope this helps?
