Scratching my own itch, here comes the Latvian QWERTY layout. It's basically the same as English, just with more extended_labels (carefully placed to be as close to your finger as possible, when they come up ).

Now if someone could explain me how to package this up and put on Ovi (for free of course)...

EDIT: MesInput ID 225028

Go to mesinput.com and submit it there. Then a user only has to install mesinput and download as much languages as he want. Of course you can make a deb and try to upload to ovi (don't know how) but seems like unnecessary hassle.

Judging from my own experience, the first place I looked was Ovi. And it took some time to figure out about MesInput and what it does (this thread was more helpful than anything google came up with). Thus Ovi seemed to be the best way to get it out there. But I'll submit it to MesInput anyway.

Yes indeed ovi is the best way, but I think theres a lot of bureaucracy, you have to obtain nokia dev account, package a deb, upload it and wait for approval.

there is an option in the settings "reduced character support" just like S40 + Symbian. Choose reduced and reboot. (in my case some conversation windows respected the setting and some not until I rebooted

qwazix, the keyboard with the dead key works nicely. Million thanks.

It would be brilliant if swype was open-source and we could do the same ..

Used the Bulgarian phonetic posted in this thread (Updated version from commit on Maliit) and it works perfect!

Thanks!
