Have fun. I do not mix it with the 99worldTV, as our 99worldTV is a refined and watchable product. This thing is work in progress........

Great work, bunanson!

Please post also the whole thing, 99WTV3all.m3u as zipped file.
I'll try to find out why it isn't working.

Edit: Forget what I said. You did post the whole file. I didn't see it before as an attachment. I must be at least partially blind idiot.

Good News and bad news.

Kmplayer doesn't work with the whole file.
Perhaps it takes too much memory as you suggested.
Top command says VSZ is 107M for kmplayer, does it mean that
it uses that much memory with the playlist? Anyhow it doesn't work.

The good news is that the plain old console mplayer works!

mplayer -playlist 99WTV3all.m3u
opens the playlist after a minute
If you remove the first stream it opens even
faster because Vizion plus (the 2nd playlist entry) is
the first working stream. Then I can go to OSD
(N800 lower middle button - menu key?) and select
Jump to... and I can browse the whole playlist.

And it uses much less memory than kmplayer.

I posted and deleted the wrong file . No wonder you have a not working link first entry. I am searching for my deleted files on my PC, the one that I have cleaned up should have the first entry as "Andorra", give me a few minutes. I am upset, I learned it early in my life, do NOT delete ANYTHING, until the project is over. I am NOT practice what I preach.

Try this one, it works beautifully on the PC, so far.
It probably uses a lot of memory, even winamp choked, on the PC.
I found this file from the trashcan............so you and I are working in the trash. Cannot be more dirtier than that, right?

Edit: Andorra is the 1st entry, and looks good. I cannot get it to work with kmplayer either, but xterm/mplayer works very well.
Wow, this is a 87 kb playlist compared to our dingy 14 kb. I hope they work mostly. I agree, ours is already refined. This new one still full of junk........we will iron the damn thing out

I finally made it work. It uses a lot of memory, so if you are impatient, keep tapping on the screen, it will crash. The way I use it at this stage:

1) Rename the playlist file to WorldTV99 2.21.m3u
2) Open kmplayer
2) open the playlist WorldTV99 2.21.m3u
3) and wait for a 30 seconds or so then start changing channels.

This one has very minimal channel description, but has much more channels. Order is in geographic order, like Armenia will be at the begininning of the list, and British (United Kingdom) or USA (America) will be at the bottom of the list. I did not count, WorldTV99 is about 14 kb long with channel description and this one is 34 kb with minimal channel description, approx 5 X more. With time permits, I will slowly include some info. I doubt that would be the situation...........unless I got some help in typing Oh, some channels now has subtitles, just in case you dont speak their language. Most of the subtitles are Spanish. Why? Are you asking me?

Asgari's note for the mms sources made this happen, and Ism's enthusiam also made this happen. I already gave up couple days ago by just looking at 1650+ TV channel, almost wet my pants...

NOTE: This is NOT a .deb, it is a .m3u

Enjoy,

Edit: 6/22/08
WorldTV99 3.09 is here. This is NOT the same stuff from verison 1 and version 2. So you should keep all three versions. Version 3.09 uses mainly mplayer, almost exclusively. To install:
1) dl the file WorldTV99 mplayer.3.09.m3u.deb. It is NOT a .deb file, it is a .m3u files. Rename it to WorldTV mplayer.3.09.m3u
2) open kmplayer, menu>Player>MPlayer
3) open the WorldTV99 mplayer.3.09.m3u and wait for a few seconds. Voila, all your TV round the world.

WorldTV99 1.0 is a refined product with good description of the TV channels, and mainly MTVs; play mainly Osso Media Server
WorldTV99 2.21 is more TVs, play mainly Osso Media Server
WorldTV99 3.09 is more more TVs, play almost exclusive with Mplayer

Again, they are ALL different stuffs, should keep them all and switch playlist as needed. For versions 2 and 3, you got channel descriptions under window, so keep a small row of space under window for you to remember the channel. In the future, this will improve....if I got bored, again.

The best channel on WorldTV99 3 are the CBC channels. How do they do that? So much clearer than the rest of the other stations. Streaming are also excellent. All 6 CBC stations are the best watchable in this version. For the Hava owners, go watch the CBC stations, cannot help but wonder why Hava's resolution is not as good. Is that from the source? conversion factors? streaming factors? Any comments?

Version 1.0, winner has been the KissTV station, because of the extended stereo audio and the smooth in streaming.

Version 2.0, winner is being chosen...........

File information for the winning CBC channels:
Video Codec :wmv3
Video Bitrate: 0 kbps
Resolution: 320X240
Audio Codec:ffwmav2
Audio Bitrate:128 kbps
Audio Samples:44100 Hz, 2 ch.

Garbage In, Garbage Out. The numbers do not look any spectacular. So I guess the awesome video are from a very good original. Any comments?

@bunanson:

Great work as usual. It takes a while (days, weeks, months?)
to inspect these fine files. If I am enthusiastic what are you?
Super/Hyper ENTHUSIASTIC?

I just found good working link for Pentagon channel and searched
your file whether you had it already so I searched "pentagon".

I noticed that WTV14alln.m3u has the following pair of lines:
USA|Sports|270|Online Racing|Parimutuel racing
mms://c9o.earthcache.net/fbgaofhwdbheigbe/COMP001916SCH1_pentagon_bb.wmv

The original file had the same url but it was labeled as
Pentagon channel, not Parimutuel racing. That stream
doesn't work. However, the following works with mplayer:

mms://wlc-01.media.qualitytech.com/COMP001916SCH1_pentagon_bb.wmv

There are almost too many streams to check which makes
me both happy and exhausted.

CBC channels are wonderful (aren't there more than 6
stations?). I don't know what is their
secret formula. Perhaps channel name must start with CB...
(CBC, CBS, ...)

By the way, important question:
Is Hava better than CBS Katie Couric

@Ism: I dont even have to think. I just left a not very friendly eval on the Hava thread. Video and audio, Hava is not comparable to CBS Katie Couric, very unfortunately and Katie is FREE! And Katie is a tart less than the CBC channels.

I got something to upload, you mind to take a look? On the next thread, thanks.
