This one got some problem with the USB positioning
Why? okay let me make this clear for you. If you plug the device into the computer or USB stick, can you use it with 2 hands? There is a problem when you want to use it when the device is plugged in charging or into the computer. So the USB should be moved to the top instead of at the bottom on the left handside. Best place to put it is at the buttom left instead.
Thanx for the helpful tip, but how would your schematic be used both landscape and portrait mode?

Im trying to make it as useful as possible either way

I also want to introduce a new button, called "DIA Button" that would have a 3 way sensitive click and that could be programmed to virtually anything, like press it once and it brings up the menu, twice brings the phone app, 3times maybe, what ever you want... something like this, Settings>DIAB>(then a list of things to set it to the way u want) And this a complete different button

What about e-ink keyboard? Like:
http://phoneverizon.com/2010/downloa...750-phone.html

It would feel better (and use less power) than touchscreen keyboard and it would transform between languages and layouts easier than a conventional keyboard.

It would be a good implementation of four-orientations keyboard, or it could be a usual single orientation keyboard.

EDIT: The major problem would be time needed to redraw e-ink, especially if you switch frequently. But e-ink gets better and better, and there is no need for multi-color, just plain black and white.
