The Mozilla Marketplace is a try to get visibility and to introduce new concepts about cloud computing. Basically, apps for FirefoxOS are made in HTML, JavaScript and are simple.

Whereas FirefoxOS is an operating system focused on webapps, I was thinking that even if I can not have a FirefoxOS working perfectly on my phone, so I could benefit from the application and Mozilla Marketplace.

I was curious to use programs for FirefoxOS Meego on my phone and decided to create a simple app converter to get Mozilla Marketplace apps and bring it to Nokia Widget Runtime format. This be able to run applications in FirefoxOS phones Nokia Symbian V3, Symbian S40, MeeGo and Tizen .

Unfortunately to use my converter, you must use the Linux operating system and have the W3C Runtime installed on your mobile Meego / Maemo.

Example: sh tizfox.sh https://marketplace.firefox.com/app/...src=mkt-search

Nokia-N900:/home/user/MyDocs# sh tizfox.sh https://marketplace.firefox.com/app/...src=mkt-search
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current

0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 --:--:-- 0:00:01 --:--:-- 0curl: (60) SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate
More details here: http://curl.haxx.se/docs/sslcerts.html

curl performs SSL certificate verification by default, using a "bundle"
of Certificate Authority (CA) public keys (CA certs). If the default
bundle file isn't adequate, you can specify an alternate file
using the --cacert option.
If this HTTPS server uses a certificate signed by a CA represented in
the bundle, the certificate verification probably failed due to a
problem with the certificate (it might be expired, or the name might
not match the domain name in the URL).
If you'd like to turn off curl's verification of the certificate, use
the -k (or --insecure) option.
curl: try 'curl --help' or 'curl --manual' for more information

Sorry, this software was intented to run in computers only. The idea is to convert Firefox Apps to WGT packages to install it offline in Nokias with Symbian or Meego / Maemo.

To run this software correctly, it's needed to be installed the zip / unzip package and curl in Linux for Desktop such as Ubuntu / Fedora and others linux.

I already attached a ZIP that contains six WGT files to run in HTML Runtime in Maemo / Meego / Tizen / Symbian Anna or Belle.
Attached Files
File Type: zip TizenApps.zip (38.2 KB, 185 views)
