the smiles of pidgin are very small when i want to select one. it is possible to use another set of smiles ? i like very much the smiles of sms

You can always use another set, but they're unlikely to be bigger. It's because the display is relatively small, yet has high resolution, so (say) 20x20 pixels seem small
What you need is a pack of bigger smileys (not sure where you could get those)

Do those instructions apply adding new smileys in to the default N900 conversation app? If not so, how could I add more smileys?
